2021-7-3 PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT BEING BUTTHURT OVER A FCKING FLAG
[0:00 - 0:12] What up y'all, I apologize for like the super super lateness downstairs helping out with dinner a little bit here and there.
[0:12 - 0:20] But as you guys know 4th of July is coming out.
[0:20 - 0:35] Alright, we all know that 4th of July is coming out, which is, you know, the US is Independence Day.
[0:35 - 0:54] And me, and if you guys don't know what I'm getting at, about 2-3 months ago I got brought on to a team that's actually very famous in the UK on Horizon 4.
[0:54 - 1:13] They're one of the top drift teams in the world known as the Drift Mafia. Their leader Alan Wood was dope enough to bring me on to the team making me the first US based driver.
[1:13 - 1:29] Now one of my friends that was born and raised in Japan who actually speaks very good English was going to be the first Japanese based driver.
[1:29 - 1:40] They had me working with him and had me training him because the guy's got natural talent behind the wheel, I'm not gonna lie, the dude's very very good.
[1:40 - 1:46] The dude's very skilled with what he can do, not gonna lie.
[1:46 - 2:07] But we wanted to do something special to represent not only the US but every person that we've lost in various wars such as the war between the US and Japan,
[2:07 - 2:17] the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the wars where the UK got involved.
[2:17 - 2:36] Like myself, I did a five finger death punch/back roads country boy theme to one of my cars, which I will actually pull up and show you guys right now because I do have it right here.
[2:36 - 2:59] As long as you got hands on it real quick, I had to go throw a fuck ton of cars. I mean a fuck ton of cars.
[2:59 - 3:07] Now this right here is my car that I was going to use for the drift run.
[3:07 - 3:18] As you guys can clearly see, I have the five finger death punch skull, which is one of their logos.
[3:18 - 3:28] If you guys have not heard the bad five finger death punch, go check them out. They're very much a military supportive band.
[3:28 - 3:33] I have the classic staying bitches get stitches.
[3:33 - 3:41] I have, you know, the old beater up, you know, stitches going across there with rivets kind of make it look old.
[3:41 - 3:46] I have playing cards because you know, that's what they did back in the old west days.
[3:46 - 3:55] And then I have a low, which is what a lot of country folk are viewed as. No offense because I am a country boy.
[3:55 - 4:05] And then on the back here, I have rebel on board because as you guys know, I'm a country boy.
[4:05 - 4:09] I was born and raised a fucking country boy.
[4:09 - 4:15] So that was going to be my drift car for the event.
[4:15 - 4:17] It was going to be a massive event.
[4:17 - 4:20] We were going to set shit up and we were going to represent.
[4:20 - 4:28] We were going to get our team and various other teams to, you know, represent because right now we're about 200 strong.
[4:28 - 4:31] Right now our team is fucking massive.
[4:31 - 4:40] Even though a lot of them are UK based, we're still, you know, a massive team and me being the first US based driver.
[4:40 - 4:45] And our friend that got banned was the first Japanese driver.
[4:45 - 4:59] But what's pissing everybody off is this fucking playground games ban the guy for having a fucking Japanese flag.
[4:59 - 5:14] This dude literally spent hours upon hours making a beautiful memorial of an 86 Trelano or an 86 Corolla, a Toyota Corolla,
[5:14 - 5:25] and to a beautiful memorial piece to pay homage to his family members that he's lost in wars.
[5:25 - 5:30] You know, like this kid literally spent hours upon hours.
[5:30 - 5:38] Like this kid literally spent like 13 hours, you know, creating this beautiful memorial piece for them.
[5:38 - 5:46] And I mean, very beautiful piece like this kid went all out and really put time and effort into it.
[5:46 - 6:01] And all because playground games deemed it as, you know, like they basically deemed it, you know, offensive.
[6:01 - 6:07] Like, dude, how the fuck is a Japanese flag offensive?
[6:07 - 6:15] Like, it doesn't make no sense to me. Like, you're gonna end this is what gets me and I have seen this.
[6:15 - 6:20] I have seen this many times and it's bullshit that this happens.
[6:20 - 6:31] You have a dude that he likes to be offensive. He's he's actually a pretty well known offensive guy in the Forza community.
[6:31 - 6:42] Um, you know, this dude literally drives around with a fucking swastika on the hood of his fucking car,
[6:42 - 6:50] literally a fucking swastika just to be offensive. And you're not gonna ban him.
[6:50 - 6:58] Like, y'all ain't gonna ban him, but yet one of my friends that has a Japanese memorial piece,
[6:58 - 7:05] you guys are gonna ban that guy when this dude over here's got a fucking swastika on the fucking hood of their car.
[7:05 - 7:13] Like, are you fucking kidding me right now? That's fucking bullshit, bro.
[7:13 - 7:19] Hell, one of my friends can't even make the proper Dukes of Hazzard car.
[7:19 - 7:26] Because of the fact that they don't want a rebel flag. It's offensive.
[7:26 - 7:33] What? How is the rebel flag fucking offensive?
[7:33 - 7:40] Like, for real, how's the how's that? That's like saying the US flag is offensive.
[7:40 - 7:48] What? I put the US flag out? What are you gonna do next? You're gonna ban me for having a US military based flag?
[7:48 - 7:58] Like, you guys gonna ban me for having a US flag? Are you serious?
[7:58 - 8:21] Like, you guys sit there and ban me for having a US flag next? Like, what?
[8:21 - 8:28] Like, it don't make no motherfucking sense.
[8:28 - 8:57] Matter of fact, nobody says anything better about the rebel flag than this dude right here.
[8:57 - 9:07] I'm not trying to toot my own horn or be that egotistical asshole, but if I'm the only country singer out there right now
[9:07 - 9:14] that's getting billboard charting spots that just says what I want to, that doesn't apologize for everything
[9:14 - 9:20] and try to be some not and have a bunch of team members type up this shit and be like,
[9:20 - 9:25] "Oh, you have to say this, please, because we gotta make sure they know you're not racist."
[9:25 - 9:36] If I'm the only one out here who has these, it just goes with my gut and listens to myself instead of ten other fucking people.
[9:36 - 9:42] For real. So, I'll move it this morning with a bunch of text with links attached to them
[9:42 - 9:51] where another country singer is saying sorry for a music video that we've done back in 2015.
[9:51 - 9:58] And within these videos and stuff, in these articles that I've been seeing, there's a few things that don't really sit with me well.
[9:58 - 10:03] So, what I'm going to do is I am going to point those things out and we're going to talk about them.
[10:03 - 10:10] Now, before we get started, I am friends with quite a few country singers and a lot of them have to stay silent.
[10:10 - 10:15] They can't speak their mind because they're within these conflicts and stuff in this place, which is fine.
[10:15 - 10:21] I understand if you want to stay silent, but I don't. Since my name was brought up in a topic of discussion within all these days.
[10:21 - 10:23] Wait, wait, wait, what?
[10:23 - 10:25] Uh, I feel like, uh, I gotta say...
[10:25 - 10:29] Ah, I know that. I'm not against that. What's your point, dude?
[10:29 - 10:32] And none of this was problematic until there was a problem.
[10:32 - 10:34] Man, whatever, dude.
[10:34 - 10:37] There is butter in them, bro. You butter.
[10:37 - 10:43] And I'm a guy who has a Confederate flag texted on me for life.
[10:43 - 10:48] But it didn't have to be a video of another country singer saying to anyone.
[10:48 - 10:51] And...
[10:51 - 10:55] I'm really fast forward to hearing y'all.
[10:55 - 11:02] Country folks out there, remember the Dixie Outfitters shirts?
[11:02 - 11:04] The attributes than anything.
[11:04 - 11:11] Country music is about connecting with the person that lives in the country and lives that lifestyle.
[11:11 - 11:17] And it seems lately, in the news and in the media, they're just trying to rake in everybody.
[11:17 - 11:23] Everybody. Everybody's not gonna like you. Why are you trying to make everyone like you?
[11:23 - 11:29] When you're trying to make absolutely everybody like you, even people who don't listen to country music,
[11:29 - 11:32] you are losing true country music fans.
[11:32 - 11:36] It's not because you don't carry around with a Confederate flag.
[11:36 - 11:40] It's not because you say the South will rise again.
[11:40 - 11:43] It's because you're being a sissy about the shit.
[11:43 - 11:45] Being a music city native.
[11:45 - 11:49] Born and raised in the 615 Nashville, Tennessee.
[11:49 - 11:51] My whole entire life.
[11:51 - 11:58] Never did I think country music would be the one on its knees thinking for forgiveness.
[11:58 - 12:01] For something that it didn't even do.
[12:01 - 12:04] Growing up in music city and being raised in this environment,
[12:04 - 12:09] not once did the Confederate flag to us mean that we hated black people.
[12:09 - 12:11] It meant rebellion.
[12:11 - 12:14] It meant prideful from being from the South.
[12:14 - 12:19] Dude, I've had plenty of black buddies who wore Dixie Outfitters shirts.
[12:19 - 12:22] I know you country folks out there remember the Dixie Outfitters shirts?
[12:22 - 12:24] With the big pit bull on the back?
[12:24 - 12:25] With the trunk on the front?
[12:25 - 12:27] With the roosters fighting each other on the back?
[12:27 - 12:29] It's a culture, man.
[12:29 - 12:33] So, to me, that's exactly what the Confederate flag means.
[12:33 - 12:35] And not only that, it's nostalgic.
[12:35 - 12:41] Because it was being talked about in some of the biggest country songs when I was in high school.
[12:41 - 12:43] Take, for example, Red Atkins.
[12:43 - 12:45] Kiss My Country Ass.
[12:45 - 12:49] Tearing down a dirt road, rebel flag, fly a coon dog in the back.
[12:49 - 12:54] Trump been loaded down with beer and a cold one in my lap.
[12:54 - 12:59] Heard hard stickers behind my head and my woman by my side.
[12:59 - 13:03] Tail pops popping, the radio's rocking coach, the boy can't survive.
[13:03 - 13:07] And if you got a problem with that, you can kiss My Country Ass.
[13:07 - 13:09] I mean, that's nostalgia, man.
[13:09 - 13:10] That's my childhood.
[13:10 - 13:12] It doesn't mean that I hated black people.
[13:12 - 13:16] My black buddies rode the truck riding around with me while we was jamming the shit.
[13:16 - 13:22] My Confederate flag tattoos, one of the things that I had taken to low school for over a few years.
[13:22 - 13:23] Do I have the money to cover it up?
[13:23 - 13:25] Yeah, but I'm not good enough.
[13:25 - 13:28] My entire arms are covered with the sound.
[13:28 - 13:29] That's sound, dude.
[13:29 - 13:33] My knuckles say southern.
[13:33 - 13:35] Fish and hook.
[13:35 - 13:37] Rooster foot.
[13:37 - 13:41] Lord, when I die, when I live on the outskirts of heaven.
[13:41 - 13:42] Lightning bugs.
[13:42 - 13:44] Hunt lightning bugs.
[13:44 - 13:45] Honey suckles.
[13:45 - 13:47] Browning cymbal.
[13:47 - 13:49] Shotgun shell.
[13:49 - 13:50] Mallard.
[13:50 - 13:52] A fucking mallard.
[13:52 - 13:54] My dog that died a while back.
[13:54 - 13:55] Yellow.
[13:55 - 13:57] I got diamond plate on my arm.
[13:57 - 13:58] It says 1991.
[13:58 - 14:00] I got an American flag.
[14:00 - 14:01] I got Tennessee.
[14:01 - 14:06] I mean, I got a Gamecock rooster.
[14:06 - 14:15] I'm not telling you sorry for using my environment where I was brought up as a warm blanket to love myself in.
[14:15 - 14:18] You're not going to make me say sorry because I'm not sorry.
[14:18 - 14:23] One of the biggest legends in the game used it as symbolism.
[14:23 - 14:25] Charlie Daniels.
[14:25 - 14:29] Listen, dude, you're not shitting on Charlie Daniels as long as I'm breathing.
[14:29 - 14:31] This is a quote from Charlie Daniels.
[14:31 - 14:33] This is what he had to say when talking about the Confederate flag.
[14:33 - 14:37] He said, "The Confederate battle flag was a sign of defiance, a sign of pride,
[14:37 - 14:41] a declaration of geographical area that you were born and proud to be from.
[14:41 - 14:44] That's all it is to me and all it ever has been to me.
[14:44 - 14:51] I can't speak for all, but I know in my heart that most southerners feel the same way."
[14:51 - 14:56] Do I need to make it any more motherfucking clear, bro?
[14:56 - 15:01] Like for me, that's what being a country boy is about.
[15:01 - 15:12] Just like with our teammate that is now being, that's what him being from Japan represents.
[15:12 - 15:16] You know, he enjoys that lifestyle.
[15:16 - 15:19] He's proud to be from Japan.
[15:19 - 15:29] Hell, his fucking family owns and runs a fucking local dojo where they keep the fucking samurai traditions alive.
[15:29 - 15:34] They still teach fucking swordsmanship.
[15:34 - 15:38] They still teach the fucking way of the Bushido over there.
[15:38 - 15:48] Still, it's not a fucking offensive.
[15:48 - 15:52] It's being prideful of being where the fuck you're from.
[15:52 - 15:58] Hell, our friend that fucking owns the goddamn team, Adam Wood,
[15:58 - 16:03] has a fucking UK flag on a lot of his fucking cars.
[16:03 - 16:09] A lot of his fucking cars have the UK flag, UK-based stuff.
[16:09 - 16:13] He's got UK-based vans on there.
[16:13 - 16:19] Like, hell, he's got a fucking car covered in the Beatles, bro.
[16:19 - 16:24] This dude literally has a car specifically made out for the fucking Beatles.
[16:24 - 16:27] Just like I have a Lincoln Park car.
[16:27 - 16:31] I have a disturbed car, a blackmail brides car.
[16:31 - 16:38] I have a fucking five finger death punch based car.
[16:38 - 16:46] Like, to get banned over a fucking flag is ignorant.
[16:46 - 16:57] Like, how is somebody supposed to represent their country and what they're prideful of if you keep banning the motherfuckers?
[16:57 - 17:05] Like, bro, one of my friends, one of my best friends, Matt, who I ride with,
[17:05 - 17:09] who a lot of y'all have seen me kick it with on Horizon 4,
[17:09 - 17:15] can't even fucking make the goddamn car from Dukes of Hazzard
[17:15 - 17:19] because of the fact they don't want the Confederate flag.
[17:19 - 17:20] It's offensive.
[17:20 - 17:22] Like, bro, what's next?
[17:22 - 17:27] Are you going to ban the U.S. flag next?
[17:27 - 17:33] Or are you going to ban the German flag, the Norwegian flag?
[17:33 - 17:36] Like, what are you going to ban next?
[17:36 - 17:41] Are you going to ban us from creating fucking anime characters next?
[17:41 - 17:48] Or are you going to ban us for fucking dumb shit that people shouldn't be offended by?
[17:48 - 17:52] There's a dude on there that has a fucking skull.
[17:52 - 17:56] I'm not sure the dude's actual name, but I know his screen name.
[17:56 - 18:02] The dude was raised in a fucking gang in South Detroit.
[18:02 - 18:06] He was part of the Crips until he found the car culture.
[18:06 - 18:08] You know what this dude did?
[18:08 - 18:10] He brought up.
[18:10 - 18:17] He's the dopest street-style body art or cars in the fucking world.
[18:17 - 18:22] This dude literally does dope-ass gangster-style fucking rides.
[18:22 - 18:27] This dude has fucking skulls with two-cross pistols.
[18:27 - 18:31] Like, this dude has some of the dopest paint jobs I've ever seen.
[18:31 - 18:39] Hell, there's a dude that's from Mexico that does the old-school lowrider fucking candy-style paint jobs
[18:39 - 18:41] on a lot of his cars.
[18:41 - 18:49] His most famous ones is one of the ones that I have that I rev, which I'll even show y'all.
[18:49 - 18:52] I'll show you guys this fucking ride.
[18:52 - 18:58] And this dude literally did this custom paint job, and it's dope as hell.
[18:58 - 19:16] I trust when I say y'all are gonna fucking dig this ride, man.
[19:16 - 19:33] It's honestly one of my personal favorite lowriders.
[19:33 - 19:39] Now you said that and you told me that this ain't a beautiful-ass fucking ride, dude.
[19:39 - 19:41] The dude does shit like this.
[19:41 - 19:52] It's literally a custom fucking paint job that he did to represent the old-school lowrider custom cars.
[19:52 - 19:56] It's a fucking lowrider muscle car.
[19:56 - 20:01] And trust me, this thing is dope as hell.
[20:01 - 20:12] Hell, I've got a classic, and I mean a fucking classic, old-school-ass fucking Ford.
[20:12 - 20:22] And when I'm being old-school Ford, I'm being old-school Ford, like, what the fuck is that mug anyway?
[20:22 - 20:29] Is it even in here?
[20:29 - 20:33] Oh, yeah, I think it's over in the Chevy's.
[20:33 - 20:37] Yeah, I think it's in the Chevy's section, yeah.
[20:37 - 20:41] Yeah, okay, yeah, it's over here.
[20:41 - 20:44] Yeah, here it is right here.
[20:44 - 20:54] One of my personal favorites, this paint job I did just literally this morning.
[20:54 - 21:03] Like, for real, old-school Maroon and gold fleet.
[21:03 - 21:06] I'm at old-school with this one, man.
[21:06 - 21:09] I know y'all remember these cars, the old-school Chevy's.
[21:09 - 21:12] I know y'all remember these motherfuckers.
[21:12 - 21:14] I know y'all remember these things, man.
[21:14 - 21:22] The old-school Maroon with the gold, the classic.
[21:22 - 21:29] Like, bro.
[21:29 - 21:33] Hell, I have a fucking drift missile.
[21:33 - 21:41] A fucking drift missile with the Japanese flag on it, because as you guys know, I enjoy Japanese culture.
[21:41 - 21:55] Always have.
[21:55 - 21:56] And here it is right here.
[21:56 - 22:04] This is my fucking drift missile that I did the paint job for, or not just me, but me and some of my buddies.
[22:04 - 22:13] They sat down, they did the thing for it, like they did the vinyl grouping, and then I put it together.
[22:13 - 22:17] Like, for real, this is one of my fucking drift missile cars.
[22:17 - 22:23] This is one of my fucking competition cars representing Japan.
[22:23 - 22:25] Like, literally.
[22:25 - 22:43] You got Furelli, you got Marvel 1, you got HKS, you got Garrett, you got FDRS, you got the Japanese bomber,
[22:43 - 22:57] the atomic bomb with the gold Japanese flag on it, which stands for drift missile.
[22:57 - 23:07] You got Ebisu, you got Naughty Yard.
[23:07 - 23:20] You got the floors of satellite. You see what I mean? I have a fucking drift missile myself.
[23:20 - 23:33] So my question to you all is, how the fuck are you going to sit there and ban somebody for having a fucking Japanese flag on their car and being prideful of where they're from?
[23:33 - 23:39] Like, y'all want people to come together.
[23:39 - 23:48] Like, y'all want people to come together and connect, but yet, when they represent where they're from, all of a sudden they get banned?
[23:48 - 23:52] Like, what the fuck, dude? I thought we were past that shit.
[23:52 - 24:05] I thought we were past y'all fucking banning motherfuckers.
[24:05 - 24:08] Like, what the hell, it doesn't make no sense to me.
[24:08 - 24:16] Like, y'all can be like, y'all let a dude with a fucking swastika run around his fucking ride.
[24:16 - 24:23] Y'all let a motherfucker rip around a dude with a goddamn swastika painted on the side of his car or on the hood of his car or whatever.
[24:23 - 24:40] But yet, when somebody like my friend fucking represents their home country, represents Japan, and spends all this time into making a memorial piece,
[24:40 - 24:50] and turning his car into a fucking memorial piece to Kay homage to some of his family members that have died in wars.
[24:50 - 24:59] Hell, one of his fucking family members who moved from Japan here to the US fought in the Iraq War.
[24:59 - 25:06] He fought alongside US soldiers in the Iraq War.
[25:06 - 25:11] So, he wears both a Japanese flag and a US flag.
[25:11 - 25:24] Like, because he's originally from Japan, but he moved over here to the US when he got older, and he joined the military.
[25:24 - 25:40] Like, I'm not saying like, you know, for some people it's offensive, I get it, but dude, instead of looking at it as an offensive deal, why not look at it as a culture?
[25:40 - 25:53] You know, just like Upchurch said, the rebel flag, even for me, it ain't about, you know, it ain't about hating black people, I don't hate black people.
[25:53 - 25:58] Like, dude, my best friend Daquan is a black dude.
[25:58 - 26:03] Like, for real. My best friend Daquan is a fucking black dude.
[26:03 - 26:13] My best friend Kyle, who died from gang violence back in 2014, was a black guy.
[26:13 - 26:24] Like, come the fuck on you, hell. My best friend John Jenkins, who does fucking music, who I've collaborated with, is a black dude.
[26:24 - 26:32] Like, my boy Kayla and the artist, the dude that runs Machiavelli Records, is a black dude.
[26:32 - 26:49] Like, so for me, the rebel flag in the car that I showed y'all, that I first showed y'all, with the five finger death punch skull and shit, that to me, ain't about, you know, hating black people, it's about being a prideful of being a country boy.
[26:49 - 26:59] Standing up behind our US military, because as y'all know, I'm an army brat. My dad was 82nd Airborne Division, United States Army.
[26:59 - 27:04] Staff Sergeant.
[27:04 - 27:24] So, you know, for me, that car in particular represents a lot. It represents proud of being a country boy, proud of being a rebel, and most of all, proud of our fucking military, bro.
[27:24 - 27:36] So, how y'all gonna sit there and get fucking butt hurt? It don't make no sense to me, man. Y'all need to quit the fucking bullshit of getting fucking butt hurt.
[27:36 - 27:41] And maybe talk to people a little more. You might find out some shit about him, y'all.
[27:41 - 27:48] But if any of y'all have gone through this, I do apologize to y'all, man. And I feel bad for y'all. I really do.
[27:48 - 27:55] But shoutout to my motherfucking drift here, man. Shoutout to Drift Mafia. Shoutout to our leader, Adam Wood. What's good, bro? Fucking love you, bro.
[27:55 - 28:06] Keep up the dope, paying jobs. Shoutout to everybody on our team, man. And shoutout to all the drivers, you know, fighting a good fight like I am and battling back against this shit, man.
[28:06 - 28:13] Let's get these motherfuckers and let's show them that flags aren't always offensive, bro. Let's keep the shit going.
[28:13 - 28:21] Everybody out there repping the car culture? Keep it going, y'all. Fucking love you guys, man. Peace.
