[0:00 - 0:04] What's up everybody it's your boy Retro Gaming here and today I'm going to be talking about
[0:04 - 0:05] something different.
[0:05 - 0:14] Something that I've not done before that I've been seeing going on in the particular Need
[0:14 - 0:17] for Speed franchise for a long time now.
[0:17 - 0:21] Every year everybody is asking we want this in the game, we want that in the game and
[0:21 - 0:22] I get it.
[0:22 - 0:29] You know I grew up playing Need for Speed Underground 1, Underground 2, I grew up playing
[0:29 - 0:34] Most Wanted, Carbon, Pro Street, you name it.
[0:34 - 0:41] And I get where people are coming from when they say they want an old school style of
[0:41 - 0:44] Underground 2 back, I get it.
[0:44 - 0:51] But the one thing that just really, really just confuses the hell out of me is why is
[0:51 - 0:59] it that everybody is always wanting stuff they can't have.
[0:59 - 1:06] And what I mean by that is everybody is always wanting this, wanting that, adding this, adding
[1:06 - 1:07] that.
[1:07 - 1:13] It's like you guys want to be in a set of course of style game and I get it.
[1:13 - 1:19] But dude, every game is going to have its flaws.
[1:19 - 1:24] Every game has flaws in some way, shape or form.
[1:24 - 1:29] Like appreciate the game for what it is.
[1:29 - 1:33] You know because these people put a lot of hard work and a lot of time and a lot of effort
[1:33 - 1:34] into their games.
[1:34 - 1:42] And I know it might not seem like it due to obvious glitches and stuff, Need for Speed
[1:42 - 1:43] 2015.
[1:43 - 1:52] But at the same time, even Need for Speed 2015 was a good step up.
[1:52 - 1:55] It really was.
[1:55 - 2:03] And the thing that gets me is like, you know, why people don't see a game for what it truly
[2:03 - 2:05] is.
[2:05 - 2:14] Instead of attacking them on what could have been done better or what they didn't do this
[2:14 - 2:18] time around, why not look at what they've done?
[2:18 - 2:22] Because I'll admit, Need for Speed Underground 2 was good.
[2:22 - 2:23] It was.
[2:23 - 2:26] It was ahead of its time back in the day.
[2:26 - 2:32] But the brand new Need for Speed Unbound by far is one of the most beautiful looking
[2:32 - 2:36] Need for Speed games we've had in a real long time.
[2:36 - 2:40] A real long time.
[2:40 - 2:44] This game is, it's honestly amazing.
[2:44 - 2:51] Like if you've seen any of the photos that have been taken in game, like it just looks
[2:51 - 2:55] so realistic and so good.
[2:55 - 3:01] So what I'm trying to understand is why Bash on a game that actually has a surprisingly
[3:01 - 3:11] good story mode and has even better customization than most Need for Speed games as a whole.
[3:11 - 3:16] Like not every game for Need for Speed is going to be good.
[3:16 - 3:23] You're going to have those few that aren't that great and that's fine.
[3:23 - 3:30] But what I'm saying is this, man, appreciate the games for what they offer.
[3:30 - 3:34] Bashing on every single game.
[3:34 - 3:42] Yes, I did speak on Need for Speed 2015 because Need for Speed 2015 I will admit was a step
[3:42 - 3:45] back as far as the physics go.
[3:45 - 3:47] It wasn't that good.
[3:47 - 3:51] But take a look at this gameplay right here.
[3:51 - 3:57] You throw this in photo mode, dude, it's going to look fucking real.
[3:57 - 4:07] Like the other day I took a picture of Brian's Mitsubishi Eclipse in game and the guy that
[4:07 - 4:12] I work with doing in game photography and other stuff like that because that's what
[4:12 - 4:14] I do, that's my job.
[4:14 - 4:17] Like he couldn't tell whether it was real or not.
[4:17 - 4:23] He flat out asked me, dude, is this real or is this in game?
[4:23 - 4:24] He didn't know what it was.
[4:24 - 4:27] Like he couldn't tell it was different.
[4:27 - 4:31] He couldn't tell what was real and what wasn't.
[4:31 - 4:39] And what you guys need to realize, we've come a long ways in gaming from two freaking bars
[4:39 - 4:46] and a dot on a screen to making hyper realistic games like this.
[4:46 - 4:49] And not every single game is going to be how we want.
[4:49 - 4:57] There are going to be things that we might have, you know, wanted to see or wish we could
[4:57 - 5:00] have had in the game.
[5:00 - 5:04] And you know, and I'm one of those people, I've been there, I've done that.
[5:04 - 5:10] But at the same time, I've also appreciated the games for what they are.
[5:10 - 5:15] I've always been a fan of the Need for Speed franchise regardless of whether the game was
[5:15 - 5:17] good or not.
[5:17 - 5:20] I've always been a huge fan of the games.
[5:20 - 5:24] And honestly, I like where they went with this.
[5:24 - 5:32] It's literally a reimagining of Need for Speed Underground 2 mixed with Most Wanted.
[5:32 - 5:35] You can't get much better than that, dude.
[5:35 - 5:37] You really can.
[5:37 - 5:42] So for everybody out there griping and moaning saying, you know, we could have had this, we
[5:42 - 5:49] could have had that, dude, shut the hell up and enjoy the game for what it is.
[5:49 - 5:52] Because these people work hard at what they do, man, they really do.
[5:52 - 5:57] And I personally, I can appreciate where they went with it.
[5:57 - 6:02] You know, like I said, the campaign line might not be that long, but it's still overall a
[6:02 - 6:06] great game and it's good fun.
[6:06 - 6:09] Not every game is going to be perfect.
[6:09 - 6:14] A prime example of this is Styrofoam 2077.
[6:14 - 6:22] That game had a crap ton of glitches when it first came out.
[6:22 - 6:30] I literally waited for months after it came out to play it.
[6:30 - 6:35] I literally waited almost a year after it came out to play it.
[6:35 - 6:40] And it still has its fair share of bugs.
[6:40 - 6:46] And that's one thing that a lot of you guys don't realize is that every game, no matter
[6:46 - 6:53] what it is, is going to have their fair share of bugs, including the Need for Speed franchise.
[6:53 - 6:58] There's always going to be something that somebody might not like and that's fun.
[6:58 - 7:03] But if you ask me, I truly appreciate the game for what it is.
[7:03 - 7:06] I love what they did with it.
[7:06 - 7:12] And to me, it's one of the best looking games that we've had in a very long time.
[7:12 - 7:22] And honestly, it rivals, if not outperforms games like the Forza series by far in terms
[7:22 - 7:27] of graphic design.
[7:27 - 7:36] I dare say it actually rivals the Gran Turismo series as far as looks.
[7:36 - 7:42] Like it really does, you know, rival a lot of these top end games.
[7:42 - 7:48] So for all you guys out there that are talking shit on it, just knock it off, dude.
[7:48 - 7:52] Either enjoy the game for what it is or don't play it at all.
[7:52 - 7:54] I personally like it.
[7:54 - 7:58] It's honestly one of the best games I've played in a long time.
[7:58 - 8:00] I absolutely love it.
[8:00 - 8:07] And for so many that does in-game photography as a professional, I can genuinely say the
[8:07 - 8:15] photography mode in here rivals any game that has photo mode bar none.
[8:15 - 8:21] And I've played a lot of games that have photo mode a lot.
[8:21 - 8:26] And don't get me wrong, all the games that I have mentioned, I'm a fan of those.
[8:26 - 8:32] I'm a huge fan of Forza, I'm a fan of Cyberpunk, all those.
[8:32 - 8:37] But honestly, killing personally that does this on a professional level for in-game
[8:37 - 8:40] photography, I'm a fan.
[8:40 - 8:46] Like I was genuinely impressed by taking this BMW right here.
[8:46 - 8:50] Like let's go back a little bit.
[8:50 - 8:54] Like let's go back a little bit here.
[8:54 - 9:06] And look at that.
[9:06 - 9:13] You can literally see every single raindrop in detail on the car right there.
[9:13 - 9:16] I mean, look at that.
[9:16 - 9:21] Nice top notch graphics right there people.
[9:21 - 9:24] How are you going to hate on that?
[9:24 - 9:33] Like you wouldn't get that in Need for Speed 2015 or even in Need for Speed heat you wouldn't
[9:33 - 9:35] get that.
[9:35 - 9:42] So genuinely this game has come a long ways.
[9:42 - 9:45] Like it is truly an amazing game.
[9:45 - 9:53] Like take a look at the back, like you can see the reflection on the BMW as it's going.
[9:53 - 10:01] You can see the water coming off of the bumper.
[10:01 - 10:06] Like you wouldn't, you would never get that with any other Need for Speed game, I promise
[10:06 - 10:08] you that.
[10:08 - 10:14] Unless you're one of those people that you know does a lot of the modding on PC and stuff
[10:14 - 10:17] which is fine.
[10:17 - 10:24] But for the first time in a long time, the people over at EA have actually listened to
[10:24 - 10:32] the fans and given us a game that is worthy of being in the books as one of the greatest
[10:32 - 10:36] games of all time.
[10:36 - 10:43] So as I said, enjoy the game for what it is, enjoy the fact that we even got a Need for
[10:43 - 10:48] Speed game because as you guys know we were close to not having one this year.
[10:48 - 10:52] But like I said, enjoy the game for what it is and stop hating on these people that put
[10:52 - 10:55] it in their hard work man.
[10:55 - 11:01] So for me, my rating on Need for Speed Unbound, I give this game a full solid 10 out of 10.
[11:01 - 11:02] 100%.
[11:02 - 11:07] And yes, there are things that could be a little bit better.
[11:07 - 11:15] But looking past that and seeing the game for what it is, it's a truly amazing breathtaking
[11:15 - 11:16] game.
[11:16 - 11:22] The open world is by far one of the biggest in the world so far, like it's one of the
[11:22 - 11:30] biggest maps we've ever had, if not the biggest, and the fact that they take detail in everything
[11:30 - 11:36] you do with having pedestrians, having cars on the side of the road.
[11:36 - 11:42] And every pedestrian is being different, and every car being different.
[11:42 - 11:46] The attention to detail is so amazing.
[11:46 - 11:52] So my final verdict on Need for Speed Unbound, I give it a solid 10 out of 10.
[11:52 - 11:58] I'm your boy Retro Gamer, this has been my review on Need for Speed Unbound and I'll
[11:58 - 12:00] catch you guys next time man.
[12:00 - 12:01] Peace.
