[4:43 - 4:52] place that you can you know promote your work and draw people in, which is what I do,
[4:52 - 4:56] you know and look where that's gotten me, it's actually gotten me to a point to where
[4:56 - 5:04] people are now interested in you know purchasing my CDs and you know purchasing my artwork
[5:04 - 5:10] to hell, I just got a pack of 10 of these today, now these are going to be a little
[5:10 - 5:16] bit more expensive, I am going to be selling these for about $150 because of the fact
[5:16 - 5:23] that these are high quality, they're already framed up, so 10 of these are going to be
[5:23 - 5:29] very exclusive done by hand on campus, you guys don't know what this is, it's actually
[5:29 - 5:39] by paint and canvas, so all 10 of these each one will be about $150, like I said it's the
[5:39 - 5:44] reason why I'm charging so much because it is going to take me a long time to do you
[5:44 - 5:52] know each piece, so I will be you know taking some time over the next few months to work
[5:52 - 6:00] on some pieces on these personally, hell who knows, you may even catch me doing it on
[6:00 - 6:05] a live stream, so I did pick up a pack of these today and they're actually not bad,
[6:05 - 6:10] they're medium grain, they're 8 by 10 and the company is actually really good too, I've
[6:10 - 6:18] actually gone through these guys before for different sales, so they are actually good,
[6:18 - 6:29] I ran by these guys a few times, they not only do canvas work, they also do art pencil
[6:29 - 6:33] work and stuff like that, so I have gone through these guys, they're very good, I definitely
[6:33 - 6:45] do trust these guys, these guys are definitely worth it 100%, but like I said you know if
[6:45 - 6:54] you guys are just coming up, no I actually still have the paints that I've been using
[6:54 - 7:00] which is my watercolor paints and my girlfriend's on me and then I also have you know my acrylics,
[7:00 - 7:07] my waters and my oil paints, so I do everything I need, I just need to go out and buy more
[7:07 - 7:15] actual oil paint and all that shit, but that doesn't come later on, but like I said you
[7:15 - 7:20] know for all you guys that are up and coming and you guys are wondering matter of fact
[7:20 - 7:27] I found this out through doing music, in order to make money you don't necessarily need
[7:27 - 7:35] to spend money at all, you just need to have a way to be able to sell your stuff, like
[7:35 - 7:39] one tactic that I learned that I'm going to be implementing here very soon because
[7:39 - 7:45] if you guys don't know I am going to start selling beat packs again very soon, for all
[7:45 - 7:55] you artists out there that are looking for you know beat packs and shit, I will be selling
[7:55 - 8:03] you know like I said a pack of 10 beats for 10 bucks which isn't bad, now if you guys
[8:03 - 8:07] are wondering how I come to that conclusion you got to figure and like and really think
[8:07 - 8:14] about this, this is mainly aimed at all you producers, like this is for all the guys
[8:14 - 8:19] out there that are you know want to be producers and music artists and shit and you guys want
[8:19 - 8:25] to do your own stuff, like I get it, I've been there, I started out the same way you
[8:25 - 8:30] did not knowing where to start, but let me tell you the first thing you need to do,
[8:30 - 8:40] do not put any of your stuff up on soundcloud, on you know any music selling site because
[8:40 - 8:47] they will rip you off, trust me I know this I've gotten ripped off by several you know
[8:47 - 8:54] beat making distributors myself, but one thing I did learn is first off if you don't have
[8:54 - 9:02] your own website, go on to Wix.com or any website maker that you want to go through,
[9:02 - 9:07] I personally go through Wix, it's the one that I've used the longest, it's the one
[9:07 - 9:18] that I know the best, but what you want to do is you want to take, you want to create
[9:18 - 9:27] your own site okay, go on to you know say like I said you know your web creation site
[9:27 - 9:34] of choice, you know your website of choice to create your site, I know some people like
[9:34 - 9:40] to use WordPress, some people like to use you know like GoDaddy which I do recommend
[9:40 - 9:47] GoDaddy they are very good, but like I said me personally I use Wix because like I said
[9:47 - 9:53] for me it's the easiest to navigate through, you can set up everything fairly quickly and
[9:53 - 9:58] what not you can set up all your payment methods and all that, but what you want to do is
[9:58 - 10:06] like I said you want to have your website and then you want to take you know 10 different
[10:06 - 10:13] beats that you made, throw them in a beat pack okay, throw them in a pack, upload them
[10:13 - 10:18] to your site, have them in a pack and then I promise you man you go up to 10 different
[10:18 - 10:26] artists and you tell them hey I got a pack of 10 beats for 10 bucks or a pack of 10
[10:26 - 10:37] beats for 20 bucks or whatever and then what you want to do is you want to be like hey
[10:37 - 10:44] you know I heard you're looking for beats you know I got a pack of you know 10 beats
[10:44 - 10:50] for say 20 bucks or 10 bucks like you don't want to overcharge it because that's the one
[10:50 - 10:55] that's one mistake that a lot of producers and a lot of people in general that are just
[10:55 - 11:01] starting out their own business that's the number one biggest mistake that they make
[11:01 - 11:09] is that they overcharge for everything they don't make things affordable you gotta think
[11:09 - 11:19] about your average consumer your average consumer doesn't want an super overly priced
[11:19 - 11:27] fucking pack of beats for like 100 bucks like they're looking for good quality beats
[11:27 - 11:37] and good quality stuff for a fairly affordable price and that's what I do whenever somebody
[11:37 - 11:43] approaches I don't sell beats that often but when I do I approach them and I tell
[11:43 - 11:50] them hey you know I got this dope ass pack of 10 beats for you know 10, 15, 20 bucks
[11:50 - 11:58] you know now this is what I do personally whenever I do my stuff I make it where people
[11:58 - 12:05] can't download the packs but they can listen to them before they buy them and then when
[12:05 - 12:12] they buy them they can then access and download the beat packs that's what I do personally
[12:12 - 12:19] is I allow the customer to listen to the beat packs and be like hey then they can
[12:19 - 12:25] then make their judgment call and be like hey I really like this beat pack this is super
[12:25 - 12:32] dope this is really good I like this I'll buy it from you or if they don't like it
[12:32 - 12:39] and they want to still buy it for certain you know beats or whatever hey that's cool
[12:39 - 12:47] you know but you're giving that customer you know a fair deal you're allowing them
[12:47 - 12:53] to be able to view the product before they purchase it that way they can make a clear
[12:53 - 13:04] judgment call on whether they want to be able to you know purchase the beat packs or whatever
[13:04 - 13:09] you're allowing that person to be like hey I really like this beat pack I've listened
[13:09 - 13:28] to them all I really like them you know I want to purchase them exactly dude exactly
[13:28 - 13:36] like I allow my customers to listen to samples of my beats you know before they make a decision
[13:36 - 13:41] on the beat pack and I've done this before help my boy Ian's bought a beat packs for
[13:41 - 13:49] me before my boy Jeremy aka C West he's brought and he's bought and beat packs for me before
[13:49 - 13:58] and they really like that idea because it gives your average artist a listen to the
[13:58 - 14:03] beats before they buy them and now once they buy them it's theirs to use they can do whatever
[14:03 - 14:11] they want with them if they want to take and resell them hey that's cool because see the
[14:11 - 14:17] way I do it is I don't do like all these other artists do which pisses me the fuck
[14:17 - 14:23] off like this is the one thing that pisses me off yes I know it's a way to make money
[14:23 - 14:30] but it's also a way to screw yourself over in the long run is people charge commission
[14:30 - 14:36] for you know licensing like they charge for all these license things and this and the
[14:36 - 14:43] other it's like dude why go through all that trouble to charge for licensing when you can
[14:43 - 14:50] do like a lot of these independent you know producers are doing and like I do and like
[14:50 - 14:55] you know lifestyle did it does and why Chuki beats does and all these different producers
[14:55 - 15:08] help like a fucking soccer does it Kano does it and this is what these guys do is they
[15:08 - 15:16] don't charge commissions once the beats are bought they're bought and they can still go
[15:16 - 15:26] in and recycle and resell those same beat packs for the same amount of money now there
[15:26 - 15:32] is one thing that does stand true as far as you know spending money to make money
[15:32 - 15:38] if you want to upgrade say your studio or whatever you're doing then yeah you're going
[15:38 - 15:46] to need to spend money that part is true but when it comes to you know sales and stuff
[15:46 - 15:51] like that you don't need to spend money to make money it's almost right now we're in
[15:51 - 16:02] the digital era digital artists and artists who sell their music online are thriving
[16:02 - 16:10] independent artists are thriving because we're in that digital era everybody's their own
[16:10 - 16:15] like you don't even need to have your own label now to make money like you don't even
[16:15 - 16:20] need a record label to make money you can sell your music on your own as an independent
[16:20 - 16:29] artist or doing whatever it is you do and not have to answer to anyone which is what
[16:29 - 16:38] I do which is what I'm currently working towards that is something that I am currently working
[16:38 - 16:45] towards myself given the fact of what happened with me and my girl the other day and everything
[16:45 - 16:58] getting put on hold of it but I'm not letting that stop me I'm not letting that stop me

[19:17 - 19:24] and I have something else there that will protect me and that's not good because people
[19:24 - 19:31] perform better when there's no safety net people perform better in sports and everything
[19:31 - 19:41] else if you don't have a plan B I'm telling you I've never ever had a plan B I say I
[19:41 - 19:46] made a full commitment that I'm gonna go be a bodybuilding champion I made a full commitment
