[0:00 - 0:28] [Silence]
[0:28 - 0:37] What's up you guys, it's your boy, and I have something I won't talk about. Something I know a lot of you guys were looking forward to.
[0:37 - 0:42] [Silence]
[0:42 - 0:44] And it's something that I had to do for myself.
[0:44 - 0:47] [Silence]
[0:47 - 1:03] I know a lot of you guys were looking forward to me facing off and squaring off against my long time rival and now former teammate Devin Marlow aka Cam Time Racing.
[1:03 - 1:09] [Silence]
[1:09 - 1:15] I know you guys were looking forward to that, and I was too honestly.
[1:15 - 1:19] Until I made a startling discovery last night.
[1:19 - 1:24] [Silence]
[1:24 - 1:35] As of last night, I found out that the entire time Devin was working with Marty to try to ruin my career as a driver.
[1:35 - 1:40] He was trying to ruin my career to get into esports full time.
[1:40 - 1:43] [Silence]
[1:43 - 1:59] And I warned Marty to not, you know, I warned Devin to not trust Marty, because I found out they were good friends.
[1:59 - 2:05] And see, there's something that Devin still is not understanding.
[2:05 - 2:13] Something that I had to learn a long time ago as a driver of any style.
[2:13 - 2:23] And you can ask any driver, any driver at all, that truly is passionate about racing the same way that I am.
[2:23 - 2:34] You can ask my brothers Ethan and Ricardo. You can ask any guy in the car community that, you know, we're all close to.
[2:34 - 2:40] [Silence]
[2:40 - 2:51] And that is a racer without a purpose. A driver without a purpose is not a driver at all.
[2:51 - 2:55] When you race without a purpose, you've already lost.
[2:55 - 3:09] And me, when I race, I don't race without a purpose.
[3:09 - 3:13] When I get behind the wheel and I race, I race with a purpose.
[3:13 - 3:19] I don't just race to win. I don't just race to show off.
[3:19 - 3:25] I don't race to prove down the best.
[3:25 - 3:33] I raced for my older brother who passed away from cancer in 2015.
[3:33 - 3:39] I raced for people like Paul Walker who lost his life.
[3:39 - 3:50] I raced for people like Dale Earnhardt Sr. who were the best, who was one of the best in the business.
[3:50 - 3:59] But that didn't. He races to try to one-up people, to try to prove a point.
[3:59 - 4:08] And that point is the fact that he can supposedly beat everybody that he goes against.
[4:08 - 4:18] And like I said the other night, when I lost, like I said the other night when I first lost that first race of the season,
[4:18 - 4:24] when I first lost, I still stand behind what I said.
[4:24 - 4:30] That loss was only one loss. Every great driver has a loss.
[4:30 - 4:34] Every great driver loses every now and then.
[4:34 - 4:39] I'm living proof of that. The other night I lost.
[4:39 - 4:45] I lost terribly. And then I got spun out and wrecked.
[4:45 - 4:52] That next day I got disqualified for whatever reason.
[4:52 - 5:02] But then that last run, that last race at Suzuka Circuit, I took home the win against some of the best drivers in the world.
[5:02 - 5:12] Some of the best drivers to ever grace the e-sports racing scene.
[5:27 - 5:36] You know, I'm not here to say that I'm the best driver in the world.
[5:36 - 5:43] Because I know I'm not. I know there's drivers out there that are faster than me and I'm okay with that.
[5:43 - 5:49] Because those drivers that are faster than me, they don't hold me back. They don't hold me down.
[5:49 - 6:01] They inspire me to do better. Just like with the losses I take, with the losses I take, I don't see them as losses.
[6:01 - 6:11] I see them as lessons to make me better. I see them as learned lessons that I can use to better myself.
[6:11 - 6:19] Because with each loss I see what I did wrong and what I can do better next time.
[6:19 - 6:27] And that's what makes a good driver. Devin is not a good driver.
[6:27 - 6:42] He doesn't put forth the hard work that I put forward every day. Every day, I'm sitting here at this wheel, 12, 13, 14 hours a day, training, practicing.
[6:42 - 6:45] Oh, you're not.
[6:45 - 6:54] Never mind, you guys. I was just about to step down, be in the door.
[6:54 - 7:03] But every day...
[7:03 - 7:12] Sorry, I'm trying not to...
[7:12 - 7:22] But every day, you know, I sit here and I train my ass off 12, 13, 14 hours a day.
[7:22 - 7:32] When I'm not working on music, when I'm not working on artwork, when I'm not working on merchandise for my music or whatever,
[7:32 - 7:50] I'm working on this every day, busting my ass, trying to be the best that I can be in hopes that I can actually have a future and get sponsored as a pro level racer.
[7:50 - 8:04] And whenever that happens, it happens. And I'm okay with, you know, staying in the minor leagues as long as I have to in order to go pro.
[8:04 - 8:21] I don't care how many races I have to do. I will do as many as I have to. I don't care how many laps I have to do in a race. I will do that.
[8:21 - 8:36] Because let me tell you, when I get behind that wheel, whether it's on a mountain pass, whether it's on an F1 track, whether it's on a drive strip,
[8:36 - 8:52] whether I'm drifting, doing a mountain run, whether I'm on a race track, doing Formula 1 racing, doing NASCAR, doing drag racing, it doesn't matter.
[8:52 - 8:58] When I'm behind that wheel, that's where I'm at home. That's where I'm at peace.
[8:58 - 9:19] And when I get behind that number 23 car on Forza, or I get behind that 42 car on here, I'm not just racing for myself. I'm racing for my brother to keep his memory alive.
[9:19 - 9:27] Because my brother is what inspired me to race. He was the one that got me into racing.
[9:27 - 9:37] Yes, I grew up watching NASCAR my whole life. I've watched the grades like Richard Petty, Dan Lernhardt Sr.
[9:37 - 9:54] Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, some of the best drivers in the world, some of the most legendary drivers on earth that are no longer with us.
[9:54 - 10:03] And then I watched drivers like Lewis Hamilton, who are amazing at what they do with F1.
[10:03 - 10:09] And I watched drifters like Adam Lizzie, Fungettin Jr.,
[10:09 - 10:23] Chelsea Danofa, Ryan Turk, and they push themselves every time, just like I do.
[10:23 - 10:38] Whether it's a loss, draw, or a win, they're constantly pushing themselves as a driver. They're constantly pushing their limits to do better, and that's exactly what I do.
[10:38 - 10:49] And that's why I refuse to race Devon, aka Canton Racing.
[10:49 - 10:57] Not because I'm a chicken, not because I'm a pussy, not because I don't want to face him. That's not it.
[10:57 - 11:02] It's because of the fact I shouldn't have to prove a damn thing to anyone.
[11:02 - 11:08] A good driver shouldn't have to prove anything to anyone.
[11:08 - 11:16] Because I don't have anything to prove to him. I already proved myself yesterday when I took that win against those other drivers.
[11:16 - 11:21] I took that win, and I'm proud of that.
[11:21 - 11:32] I took that win like a boss, and I won. Because I trained, I practiced, I busted my ass.
[11:32 - 11:39] I saw the mistakes I made, and I corrected them. Yes, some rookie mistakes were made when I spun out.
[11:39 - 11:44] But the best drivers in the world messed up.
[11:44 - 11:50] But did they let that stop them? No.
[11:50 - 11:56] And there's a couple of sayings that I live by that the great legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. said.
[11:56 - 12:01] That I live by every day.
[12:01 - 12:05] And this is one of them here. This is the most important one that I live by.
[12:05 - 12:11] The winner ain't the one with the fastest car.
[12:11 - 12:23] The winner is the one that refuses to lose and never gives up and keeps trying. No matter what.
[12:23 - 12:52] I live by that saying every day. Every day I live by that saying.
[12:52 - 13:08] And another thing that I live by that I tell people this all the time.
[13:08 - 13:17] Which is I taught you everything you know, not everything I know.
[13:17 - 13:24] Which means you can learn all the lessons that you want to learn.
[13:24 - 13:44] A person can only teach you so much of what you need to know, but it's up to you to apply what you've learned.
[13:44 - 13:48] And there's another saying that is kind of true when it comes to racing.
[13:48 - 13:54] Which is you win some, you lose some, you wreck some. And that's staying true for every driver.
[13:54 - 14:04] Whether you're at NASCAR, Rallycross, Drift, it don't matter. You're going to wreck at some point.
[14:04 - 14:08] Well, like I said, at the end of the day, my goal isn't to be the best in the world.
[14:08 - 14:12] My goal is to be the best driver that I can be.
[14:12 - 14:25] My goal is to be able to make a living off what I love for not just for, you know, family, not just for friends, not just for myself, but for the passion of the sport.
[14:25 - 14:31] Whether I get paid or not down the road, whether you're going to sponsor or not, I'm still going to be doing me.
[14:31 - 14:40] I'm still going to wake up. I'm still going to get behind the wheel. I'm still going to train hard and practice as hard and as much as I can.
[14:40 - 15:09] I'm still going to compete. I'm still going to do it for the love of the sport and nothing's ever going to change that.
[15:09 - 15:17] So, like I said, can time racing, you can sit there and say that I backed out all you want.
[15:17 - 15:25] Truth is, I didn't back out. I just don't have time to race a foolish driver like you.
[15:25 - 15:34] Yes, you may be good at Forza. I'll give you that. You're one of the most talented drivers I've seen on the Forza series.
[15:34 - 15:46] But at the end of the day, you're arrogant.
[15:46 - 15:51] At the end of the day, you're an arrogant kid that has a lot to learn when it comes to the racing world.
[15:51 - 15:57] Because some of you don't realize, Devin, I've been racing a lot longer than you have, kid.
[15:57 - 16:02] I've been racing since I was 16 and under.
[16:02 - 16:07] I started out on underground too and made my way up from there.
[16:07 - 16:13] I've been racing since I was about between 13 and 16.
[16:13 - 16:19] And I had to learn my lessons along the way. I had to practice. I didn't win right away.
[16:19 - 16:22] I had to bust my eyes.
[16:22 - 16:29] I'm 30 now, going to be 31 this year.
[16:29 - 16:34] So I've been racing probably since before he was born.
[16:34 - 16:44] And for you to sit there and say that I'm trash and that I'm dog water, that I'm a dog shit driver, I'm not.
[16:44 - 16:54] It's just I have the common sense to know who's a real driver and who's not. And you're not.
[16:54 - 16:58] You still feel like you have something to prove. You're always trying to one-up me.
[16:58 - 17:01] Always trying to be right about everything.
[17:01 - 17:05] But the truth is, dude, you're never going to one-up me.
[17:05 - 17:09] You're never going to prove anything with your attitude the way that you are.
[17:09 - 17:13] You need to drop the attitude first off.
[17:13 - 17:20] If you want to be a great driver, you need to drop the attitude and show some respect.
[17:20 - 17:32] Because you don't show respect.
[17:32 - 17:38] You don't show any respect to fellow drivers around you.
[17:38 - 17:43] You just feel like, oh, they're dog shit. I can beat that no problem.
[17:43 - 17:46] You're always trying to prove something.
[17:46 - 17:50] And that right there is your biggest flaw, your biggest mistake.
[17:50 - 17:55] Because when you feel like you have something to prove, you've already lost.
[17:55 - 18:01] Because when you let your ego get in the way, you're going to fuck up.
[18:01 - 18:06] Don't get me wrong. As a rookie driver, I made that same mistake.
[18:06 - 18:09] I made that mistake of letting my ego get in the way.
[18:09 - 18:17] But you want to know something? I humbled up and I didn't let it get in the way.
[18:17 - 18:23] So like I said, whether I win or whether I lose or whether it comes down to a draw, I don't care.
[18:23 - 18:31] At the end of the day, I'm still a driver all the same.
[18:31 - 18:38] And I will continue to race as long as my body will allow.
[18:38 - 18:45] I don't care if I'm 70, 80 years old, I will still be racing.
[18:45 - 18:51] As long as my body will allow me, I will still continue to race and I will still continue to compete.
[18:51 - 18:58] Whether I get sponsored or not, I will continue to compete because I love this sport.
[18:58 - 19:07] I do it for the passion of the sport and I do it for those that we've lost within the racing community and the car community.
[19:07 - 19:15] Whether that be on Forza on the drive strip, whether that be on grade on the mountain pass ripping it up,
[19:15 - 19:26] or whether that be on F1 2020, or whether that's on need for speed heat, underground 2, pro street, most wanted, it don't matter.
[19:26 - 19:31] At the end of the day, I'm still going to be a driver. I'm still going to do what I love.
[19:31 - 19:35] Now, would I like to get sponsored? Absolutely. I would love for that.
[19:35 - 19:44] That's like literally my dream job right there.
[19:44 - 19:45] That is legit.
[19:45 - 19:51] My dream job is to become a pro sponsored e-sports driver.
[19:51 - 19:54] That's literally my dream job.
[19:54 - 20:01] And whether that happens or whether it doesn't, that's okay.
[20:01 - 20:09] Oh, I'm great, dude.
[20:09 - 20:34] Hold on, y'all. Let me see what this video is about.
[20:34 - 20:44] Well, like I said, at the end of the day, it's not about what you think it's about, Devin.
[20:44 - 20:54] And that's lesson that you still haven't learned, dude.
[20:54 - 21:12] See, an ego doesn't make you a good driver. Practicing, having heart, having a purpose makes you a good driver, along with skill and practicing.
[21:12 - 21:26] You see, when I get behind the wheel, when I get behind the wheel, I'm free.
[21:26 - 21:32] Whether it's for a half hour, 10 seconds, an hour, two hours, it doesn't matter.
[21:32 - 21:40] When I'm behind the wheel, I'm free.
[21:40 - 21:44] I'm free from all the bullshit, all the stress.
[21:44 - 21:50] I'm free from the bullying, from the attacks.
[21:50 - 21:58] When I'm behind the wheel, nothing matters.
[21:58 - 22:12] Nothing else matters except me being in that car at that moment.
[22:12 - 22:20] And there's nothing that's ever going to change that.
[22:20 - 22:28] And you can sit there and say that wins are all that matter and blah, blah, and yeah, when you want to go pro, yeah, that may be true.
[22:28 - 22:42] Wins do matter, yes. But so do losses, because losses teach you things, things that you may not have been taught before, things that you may not have known before.
[22:42 - 22:56] So when I lose, I don't see it as a loss. I see it as a lesson. I see it as a lesson that I'm being taught to do better.
[22:56 - 23:04] Because losses are just like mistakes. You have to learn from them.
[23:04 - 23:09] And you have to try not to make those mistakes again.
[23:09 - 23:16] Prime example, the other night, I watched my livestream back from when I took that loss.
[23:16 - 23:22] I watched what I did wrong, and I learned from it, and I practiced on it.
[23:22 - 23:30] And look where that practice took me. It brought me my first victory just yesterday.
[23:30 - 23:35] Yesterday morning, I took my first win at Suzuka Circuit.
[23:35 - 23:40] And in six more days, I'll be racing at France.
[23:40 - 23:44] And then from there, who knows where else.
[23:44 - 23:51] But at the end of the day, I am still going to practice. I am still going to compete.
[23:51 - 24:00] Now, as I said, I would like to get sponsored, yes, but that'll come in due time.
[24:00 - 24:05] But like I said, Devin, I hope you use this video as a learning tool.
[24:05 - 24:09] I'm not here to bash on you. I'm not here to hate on you.
[24:09 - 24:19] I'm here to teach you what makes a real driver.
[24:19 - 24:29] Yo, happy early birthday, man.
[24:29 - 24:55] Happy early birthday, bro.
[24:55 - 24:59] Well, like I said, Devin, I'm not here to bash on you.
[24:59 - 25:05] I'm here to teach you something that you may not realize.
[25:05 - 25:09] Now, I said, I hope that you don't take this in a bad, negative way.
[25:09 - 25:15] I hope that you take this as a learning tool to learn from it.
[25:15 - 25:20] Because you're talking to somebody that's got way more experience in racing than you do.
[25:20 - 25:22] Yes, you may have raced in real life.
[25:22 - 25:25] You may have raced go-karts or whatever, and that's cool.
[25:25 - 25:30] I applaud you for that. That's awesome that you took that step.
[25:30 - 25:33] That's awesome that you got the chance to do that.
[25:33 - 25:37] You got to do something that not very many get that chance to do, and that's dope.
[25:37 - 25:41] I think that's awesome.
[25:41 - 25:50] But at the end of the day, whether it's racing e-sports or competing in e-sports or real life,
[25:50 - 25:55] at the end of the day, racing is racing all the same.
[25:55 - 25:58] It doesn't matter whether it's real life or in-game.
[25:58 - 26:04] At the end of the day, as long as you're behind that wheel and you're driving,
[26:04 - 26:19] as far as I'm concerned and as far as many others are concerned, you're a driver.
[26:19 - 26:22] Like I said, Devin, I hope you take this as a learning tool
[26:22 - 26:26] and as a lesson to improve yourself later on down the road.
[26:26 - 26:30] I hope you understand now why I refuse to race you.
[26:30 - 26:32] It's not because you're a shitty driver.
[26:32 - 26:37] It's because I shouldn't have to prove myself to you or to anyone.
[26:37 - 26:43] Because a real driver knows he's good and doesn't have to prove it.
[26:43 - 26:51] Me, I showed it on the track yesterday against real drivers.
[26:51 - 26:56] Like I said, you're more prolific and more proficient on Forza.
[26:56 - 27:03] I'm more prolific and more proficient on F1 2020.
[27:03 - 27:10] So like I said, two different drivers.
[27:10 - 27:16] And at the end of the day, you have your way of thinking, my way of thinking.
[27:16 - 27:20] But I do hope that you take this as a lesson learned
[27:20 - 27:29] and you utilize it and learn from it. Peace.
[27:29 - 27:34] And maybe somewhere down the line, I do hope that you learn to not trust Marty.
[27:34 - 27:40] I really do.
