[0:00 - 0:21] What's up everybody it's your boy. I kind of wanted to do something different today. I wanted to do something that not a lot of people understand. I kind of want to explain you know what my process is for recording songs on here more specifically doing piano covers.
[0:21 - 0:38] Now a lot of people think that you know, oh you have to learn to play by note, by key, but that's not how I learned to play. I learned to play it a whole different way than most. Now as you can see I got my Panda World A mini keyboard here.
[0:38 - 0:46] It's very good, it's like 78 bucks on Amazon, it's very good. Personally my favorite one that I've had so far.
[0:46 - 1:03] I have had others in the past that I weren't as good, this one's very good. I will leave a link to the place where you can get it on Amazon. I will leave the link to the specific one of you guys would like to pick it up if you guys can.
[1:03 - 1:25] Like I said, I don't play by note or keyboard. I play by what I hear vocally and for an example I'm going to use the song Voodoo from God smack as an example to kind of teach you guys how I do what I do.
[1:25 - 1:35] A lot of people think, oh you know, you have to play by note, but that's not necessarily true. So let me give you guys a good example here of what it is that I do.
[1:35 - 1:38] Let me pull up Voodoo by God smack.
[1:38 - 1:49] Alright, so as you can tell.
[1:49 - 2:10] Alright, so you see what I did right there? I'm going to play that back for you guys.
[2:11 - 2:39] Alright, so you see what I did there?
[2:39 - 2:50] Basically what I did was, I'm not the one who's so far away when I feel this thing like it's in my veins.
[2:50 - 3:05] Basically what I'm doing is I'm playing what I hear by sound, vocally, on a keyboard.
[3:05 - 3:13] And if you really think about it, each note can be translated vocally on a keyboard.
[3:13 - 3:19] This is actually my normal setting right here, which you guys don't see.
[3:19 - 3:30] It's usually the second one over for most songs, but every now and then I'll go down like that or up so I can switch it at will, which is really cool.
[3:30 - 3:38] One thing I like about this, basically I play what I hear vocally.
[3:38 - 4:02] So like for, say like an Evanescence-esque song.
[4:02 - 4:14] I'm going to give you another good example here.
[4:14 - 4:39] Now this one you want to go higher on notes.
[4:39 - 4:44] You see what I did right there?
[4:44 - 5:02] Basically I take the songs and instead of translating them into notes or scales or keys, I translate what I hear vocally into sounds on a keyboard.
[5:02 - 5:14] Whether that be violin, piano, wind section type stuff, what have you.
[5:14 - 5:19] But I hope this gave you guys an insight on how I do what I do.
[5:19 - 5:24] As I said, I do all my stuff.
[5:24 - 5:33] I play by what I hear vocally. I don't play by notes or scales like that. I play by what I hear sound-wise.
[5:33 - 5:38] And I hope that these couple examples really showed you guys what I'm able to do.
[5:38 - 5:47] And hopefully you guys get a better understanding of my style of covers and how I do what I do.
[5:47 - 5:56] But with that being said, I do hope that you guys enjoy your day and hopefully this helped you guys out in understanding my style.
[5:56 - 6:00] But with that being said, I'll catch you guys later. Peace.
