[0:00 - 0:08] Hello and welcome my name is Chance also known as Shadow Blade from Bloodshot Records and
[0:08 - 0:13] today I am going to be teaching you guys how to make it in the music industry
[0:13 - 0:21] with no money at all step-by-step and yes you heard me right I'm here showing
[0:21 - 0:29] you yeah you watching how to make it in music with no money at all using
[0:29 - 0:38] these simple acts right here on the side here I know this is not a get rich
[0:38 - 0:43] quick scheme you will have to put in several months of hard work but believe
[0:43 - 0:49] me it's very very worth it in the end because in the end you'll not only have
[0:49 - 0:54] you know been saving yourself hundreds and thousands of dollars in the long
[0:54 - 1:00] run but you'll also be able to keep ownership of all your stuff without
[1:00 - 1:05] having to worry about a record label you know when you get paid when you don't
[1:05 - 1:11] get paid all that way you get to avoid all that hassle and get paid every six
[1:11 - 1:16] weeks every six months on your own terms
[1:16 - 1:24] well with that being said let's get this started now I often you know get this
[1:24 - 1:28] excuse from people oh I don't have a way to record I don't have a microphone I
[1:28 - 1:34] don't have this I don't have that that's the excuse I get every time and
[1:34 - 1:44] it it boggles my mind but in all actuality if you have a phone if you
[1:44 - 1:51] have a tablet you have a way to record your tablet and your phone is not only
[1:51 - 1:57] going to serve as your microphone but unless you like me you have a Chromebook
[1:57 - 2:02] that's also when you serve as your studio your distribution platform all
[2:02 - 2:08] that but me I'm currently on a Chromebook but I do have a tablet as
[2:08 - 2:14] well for when I'm not near the house I can still record which is why I'm going
[2:14 - 2:18] to be talking about these two apps right here
[2:18 - 2:28] been lab and soundtrack now I am going to go over some of the similarities and
[2:28 - 2:35] differences first up I'm going to start off with the similarities they are both
[2:35 - 2:42] cross-platform and what I mean by that is like let's say you're out and about
[2:42 - 2:48] and you have no way to record or like and you like you have something that
[2:48 - 2:54] you want to record all right like you have something that you would very much
[2:54 - 2:59] like to record right and like you you're just like dude I gotta record
[2:59 - 3:06] this is a dope one this is a dope verse you know it's a great verse how can I
[3:06 - 3:14] record it well that's where you this right here you know this then lab is
[3:14 - 3:18] gonna come in handy along with soundtrack
[3:18 - 3:29] now with soundtrack it is the same you can cross-platform now but first let me
[3:29 - 3:36] get back to so what you can do is you can like I said you can record both
[3:36 - 3:45] mobile and other platforms so I guess now let's say you got a verse you want
[3:45 - 3:51] to record you're gonna pull up in partner you're gonna pull up in lab
[3:51 - 3:57] you're gonna sign up they're both free to sign up for by the way but you're
[3:57 - 4:05] gonna sign up for a band lab okay and then from there you're gonna go into
[4:05 - 4:10] your studio and you can record and then once you're done recording you can save
[4:10 - 4:16] that recording and pick it back up when you get home like whether you're on PC
[4:16 - 4:23] whether you're on Chromebook or you can even go to the library your local
[4:23 - 4:26] library and pull it up on there you should grab your headphones head to the
[4:26 - 4:35] nearest library and go from there and soundtrack you can do the same exact
[4:35 - 4:40] thing these both are you can download the both for iOS and Android and they
[4:40 - 4:47] both do work on PC and Chromebook so you got a lot you can work with right
[4:47 - 4:54] there now a neat thing with both band lab and soundtrack is you not only
[4:54 - 5:02] record but you can you know basically create beats or whatever you want to do
[5:02 - 5:13] but there are a couple differences with between band lab and soundtrack with
[5:13 - 5:20] band lab you have unlimited space and you get real-time feedback from real
[5:20 - 5:23] people when you post your stuff when you post your project and they get
[5:23 - 5:32] public the band lab with soundtrack you do you do have unlimited space for one
[5:32 - 5:38] month you sign up you get one month free premium membership which allows you
[5:38 - 5:45] for unlimited space all their premium files all their premium instrumentals
[5:45 - 5:50] instruments whatever you want to use you do get those for free for a month
[5:50 - 5:56] and then once that month is up you're downgraded to like five slots and only
[5:56 - 6:02] certain instruments and stuff like that but I use soundtrack mostly for
[6:02 - 6:11] recording so you know it is what it is but with soundtrack like I said you
[6:11 - 6:15] only get like five slots that's right you get only five slots once premium
[6:15 - 6:22] memberships up but it's it's really good like the quality of the sound is very
[6:22 - 6:26] good it's easy to pick up on
[6:26 - 6:35] but and here's a little tip with soundtrack like let's say you're done
[6:35 - 6:40] with your premium membership right and you're recording and like you only got
[6:40 - 6:46] like five slots what you want to do is you want to take record your stuff and
[6:46 - 6:50] you want to you obviously you want to publish it but what you're gonna do is
[6:50 - 6:56] you're gonna leave the studio once it's done mixing down and rendering you want
[6:56 - 7:01] to leave the studio click on the song and then share it to like Facebook
[7:01 - 7:09] YouTube SoundCloud all that and when you're done with that once it's posted
[7:09 - 7:16] wherever you want to post it you go in and then you delete the project it saves
[7:16 - 7:20] space you delete the project from soundtrack once you're done posting it
[7:20 - 7:26] it does save a lot of space and a lot of hassle that's a little trick I picked
[7:26 - 7:28] up for you guys
[7:32 - 7:41] now that we got these out the way let's move on to the next thing which
[7:41 - 7:55] is Amuse now what Amuse is is it's a digital distribution platform and it is
[7:55 - 8:04] backed actually by Black Eyed Peaces Will.i.am he helped to found and create
[8:04 - 8:11] the app and fund the project so shout to Will.i.am for helping to do that for
[8:11 - 8:20] backing the app and helping to make it possible but like I said what Amuse is
[8:20 - 8:26] is a digital distribution platform where you the artist can distribute your
[8:26 - 8:34] music a hundred percent free without spending a single dime that's right you
[8:34 - 8:40] heard me through Amuse you can distribute your music to every platform
[8:40 - 8:47] in the world completely free right from your home but what you're gonna do is
[8:47 - 8:52] you are going to record your stuff right like let's say you have a hit single
[8:52 - 8:56] and like you know this song is gonna be a hit single and you want to get it out
[8:56 - 9:03] there what you're gonna do is if you have not done so already you do want to
[9:03 - 9:11] convert your stuff to a WAV file which is a WAV file you do want to do that
[9:11 - 9:18] but once you've done that you're gonna upload it to Amuse and once you've
[9:18 - 9:22] uploaded it you're gonna fill out you know your basic information like if
[9:22 - 9:30] you're underneath a record label like I am like if you guys notice you know up
[9:30 - 9:38] here is my label's logo bloodshot records me and my little brother Ian we
[9:38 - 9:42] started it last year and ever since we've just been booming so shot the
[9:42 - 9:51] bloodshot records love you guys but um what you're gonna do is you're gonna
[9:51 - 9:55] you know fill out your basic information you know like everything you know your
[9:55 - 10:02] song your style all of that you're gonna want to do that and then what
[10:02 - 10:05] you're gonna want to do is you're gonna want to minimize that oh wait you're
[10:05 - 10:10] gonna want to you know save that and then depending on what you have whether
[10:10 - 10:19] you have a PC Chromebook a phone and Android iOS whatever you have you're
[10:19 - 10:27] gonna want to either grab Photoshop or this app right here which is Pixlr it
[10:27 - 10:33] is not only an app but you can access it on the web now what Pixlr is it's
[10:33 - 10:39] basically like Photoshop for Chromebook like you can't do as much with it like
[10:39 - 10:43] you can with Photoshop but it's still really interesting it's still really
[10:43 - 10:51] cool to use I use Pixlr all the time and then another app I use which is
[10:51 - 10:58] right above it is cool text or if you guys prefer flaming text or however you
[10:58 - 11:04] want to do your text however you want to create your text you're going to you
[11:04 - 11:10] know create your album cover now your album cover does have to be 1,400 by 1,400
[11:10 - 11:16] you can't have any you know brand-name stuff or anything like that in it like
[11:16 - 11:22] you can't have any of that you can't just use any image it has to be you
[11:22 - 11:27] know to their standards which I know it sucks I know a lot of you like to get
[11:27 - 11:34] creative just like I do I know it sucks but there's a reason for it and that's
[11:34 - 11:40] so they can protect their own butts from getting sued and everything else
[11:40 - 11:47] so like I said I know it sucks and you can't use just any image you want you
[11:47 - 11:56] can't use like animated pictures anything like that which I know it sucks
[11:56 - 12:05] but it is what it is but once you're done uploading your song and your cover
[12:05 - 12:11] to a muse what you're gonna do like I said before you do have to have your
[12:11 - 12:17] songs in a wav file format I know it sucks but you do have to do that that's
[12:17 - 12:20] just how they work
[12:20 - 12:27] but once you're done doing that and you are ready to release it it'll take
[12:27 - 12:32] about a week to release or for them to confirm it it'll take about a week for
[12:32 - 12:37] them to confirm your release once it's released it then get this gets
[12:37 - 12:45] distributed to places like Spotify YouTube red Napster iTunes Google Play
[12:45 - 12:52] Amazon all these different stores that you usually see everything in including
[12:52 - 13:00] Spotify it gets put out there for free now you're probably thinking like
[13:00 - 13:06] what's gonna happen once it's out there well once it's out there and you get
[13:06 - 13:11] people streaming or buying your albums it'll take about six weeks for the
[13:11 - 13:18] payouts for the live streams from like you know Spotify YouTube all that it'll
[13:18 - 13:23] say about six weeks to get payment from that and then it'll take about six
[13:23 - 13:28] months if somebody's bought your album off like iTunes Google Play and stuff
[13:28 - 13:34] like that well you're probably thinking right now well why would I want to
[13:34 - 13:39] spend that much time waiting to get paid I want to get paid now here's the
[13:39 - 13:45] thing think about what you can do in that time between that six weeks and
[13:45 - 13:51] that six month time trade think about what you can do you can perform shows
[13:51 - 13:58] you can promote your work you can start working on new albums you can start
[13:58 - 14:02] working on new album concepts you can finish up songs you've already done you
[14:02 - 14:08] can create a music video or two you know you can collaborate with other artists
[14:08 - 14:14] to really push your work you can promote your work like you know on
[14:14 - 14:21] Spotify and all that something like I said I know the weight sucks but trust
[14:21 - 14:27] me the weight is worth it I'm in the last few months alone I just released
[14:27 - 14:39] my debut album blackout through Amuse on June 6th on June 6th of this year and
[14:39 - 14:45] since then I've been I've gotten over a hundred streams on Spotify and made
[14:45 - 14:51] literally a dollar 13 in live stream royalties alone because over a hundred
[14:51 - 14:58] people streamed all my stuff I currently have two albums out and three
[14:58 - 15:01] singles
[15:01 - 15:08] and I'm probably thinking well what like what do I have to do to get it on
[15:08 - 15:15] Spotify like I said use it through go to Amuse distributed through there now
[15:15 - 15:20] I will say this you do need to get Spotify for artists and if you don't
[15:20 - 15:24] have Spotify you do have to sign up for that as well because what you're going
[15:24 - 15:30] to do is you're going to claim your artist profile through Spotify for
[15:30 - 15:34] artists you're going to go in create your stuff and all that and then you're
[15:34 - 15:39] going to claim your artist profile through Spotify for artists which I had
[15:39 - 15:46] to do the same thing it takes about a day if that to register so once you're
[15:46 - 15:54] done with all that you are basically good to go
[15:54 - 16:07] but I say guys I do hope that this video did help you guys on how to you
[16:07 - 16:14] know start doing music yourself with no money at all whatsoever and getting the
[16:14 - 16:18] keep a hundred percent of what you make and that's the cool thing about Amuse
[16:18 - 16:24] you get to keep a hundred percent of what you make they take nothing from you
[16:24 - 16:32] it does legitimately work you guys would like the links to my music and
[16:32 - 16:38] further proof of that like it's where you guys can see my stuff the links to
[16:38 - 16:44] my Spotify Google Play and Amazon will be down below so you guys can you know
[16:44 - 16:50] check my stuff out if you guys did enjoy this video and this was helpful to
[16:50 - 16:55] you guys and to you artists be sure to slap that like button like a boss and
[16:55 - 17:01] be sure to hit that subscribe button like a badass and I will see you guys
[17:01 - 17:09] in the next video this has been your boy Chance from bloodshot records and I will
[17:09 - 17:15] see you guys in the next video and in the next video I will be going into
[17:15 - 17:23] basically how to you know basically market yourself and build your family
[17:23 - 17:34] just like I'm doing so until then I will see you guys later peace
[17:34 - 17:37] you
