2018-7-10 How to Use Power Director

[0:05 - 0:10] I'm doing a tutorial video for a very good friend of mine who is brand new to
[0:10 - 0:15] the YouTube scene this tattooed girl who's a very very very very dear and
[0:15 - 0:25] very close friend of mine this is a tutorial on how to use power director
[0:25 - 0:30] this isn't just for the pro version like I have this is for any version of
[0:30 - 0:34] power director whether you have the bundle edition whether you have the
[0:34 - 0:45] regular one or power director pro like myself but what that is so to get this
[0:45 - 0:49] started first what you're gonna want to do and this is how to edit and
[0:49 - 0:52] everything so I'm gonna be going into detail this won't be too long I
[0:52 - 0:57] promise but first thing you're gonna want to do is you're gonna be you're
[0:57 - 1:02] gonna be presented with this screen right here and what you want to do is
[1:02 - 1:08] click on new project now depending on what style you want to use I don't
[1:08 - 1:16] normally use this one right here I normally use the six the 16 by 9 16.9
[1:16 - 1:22] because that's your full screen one this one right here is for like if you
[1:22 - 1:30] want to play like say thumb drift or like one of your thumb bass games then
[1:30 - 1:35] you'll use this but for the most part you're gonna want to use this if you're
[1:35 - 1:42] doing regular videos so for now we're just gonna leave it on 16.9 and we're
[1:42 - 1:46] gonna and you also do want to name your project I don't normally do that
[1:46 - 1:51] because I already know where they're at so I don't bother naming them but what
[1:51 - 1:56] you do is you click on okay and it'll it'll bring you to this screen right
[1:56 - 2:08] here now if you can do this many ways and just for example I'm gonna show you
[2:08 - 2:18] guys how to do it like as you can see you can go here click on this and you
[2:18 - 2:23] know you can record you know videos or whatever like you can record your stuff
[2:23 - 2:31] that way I just hit the escape button like right here is basically where all
[2:31 - 2:41] your video footage is but for this one we're just gonna go into download and
[2:41 - 2:54] just for example let's say just for peer example let's say I wanted to take miss
[2:54 - 3:06] tattoo girls intro and throw it into a video like let's say let's do this
[3:06 - 3:12] let's click on her intro you're gonna tap on it and then you're gonna click
[3:12 - 3:18] on this right here which is the plus sign you're gonna click that now that
[3:18 - 3:25] now that you have that you're gonna drag your thing over all the way over
[3:25 - 3:31] to right here to the end of the clip and then you're just gonna go in and
[3:31 - 3:39] add whatever clip you want whether it be on camera or what have you so like
[3:39 - 3:46] let's just say for example I wanted to throw in one of let's take my gameplay
[3:46 - 3:57] video that I did a name for speed carving with Sean's GT500 and show you
[3:57 - 4:03] what's in GT500 just for example I'm gonna click on that and it will add it
[4:03 - 4:13] to this and then you're gonna click on the back button obviously and then as
[4:13 - 4:26] you can see it's combined the two get rid of that now as you can see there's
[4:26 - 4:38] like no edits to it or whatever now this applies to this one only if like you
[4:38 - 4:43] have certain ones that you can use on regular which is fine I've used regular
[4:43 - 4:49] ones myself which one is you want to click on this little lightning bolt
[4:49 - 4:55] right here this little black and white square you want to click on that and
[4:55 - 5:03] you'll be presented with this now as you can see they have a whole wide range
[5:03 - 5:12] of different effects now my personal favorite ones to use are ones like this
[5:12 - 5:20] so like right here this film this rain this one right here which is really
[5:20 - 5:28] cool it's like a fire effect or the crossfade or the blur and occasionally
[5:28 - 5:34] I'll use like these for a here but for the most part I usually stick with my
[5:34 - 5:40] other ones so for this one we're just going to go into this and then it
[5:40 - 5:46] automatically adds that effect now if you do have the pro version which you
[5:46 - 5:52] do have to buy it's not that expensive actually you click on get more and then
[5:52 - 5:57] you have a bunch of really cool ones that I do use a lot like because I do
[5:57 - 6:02] have the pro version because a very very good friend of mine did hook me up with
[6:02 - 6:08] it he's actually a local here in the area and he does a lot of video editing
[6:08 - 6:15] as well so he was able to hook me up with it but this is where your pro
[6:15 - 6:20] edition ones are gonna be but for those of you that don't have pro edition
[6:20 - 6:26] we're just gonna focus on these now what you're gonna want to do is after
[6:26 - 6:33] you've done that like you know after you've added your effect you're gonna
[6:33 - 6:43] want to go back and just play it back just for this example I'm just gonna
[6:43 - 6:55] play through for you and then once you get up to about right here this is what
[6:55 - 7:05] the effect will do see it does a crossfade now for this one I'm just
[7:05 - 7:17] gonna get rid of that one so um there is one more at this other end that I do like
[7:17 - 7:25] to use which is the x-ray fade and a few others so for this one I'm gonna try
[7:25 - 7:35] this effect so let's just do like this as you can see it has different effects
[7:36 - 7:47] now if you would like to get rid of that you just simply hit if I can get
[7:47 - 7:57] rid of it now they do have different effects too which is really cool so like
[7:57 - 8:08] if you wanted to have say a really cool effect on say your intro you simply go to
[8:08 - 8:14] FX and you'll be presented with this now as you can see they got some really cool
[8:14 - 8:21] effects that I've actually used myself my first all favorite is the TV screen
[8:21 - 8:29] one I absolutely love that one so for this one but just to be funny for this
[8:29 - 8:35] one I'm gonna use the water effect as it's really super cool and you guys
[8:35 - 8:57] will see what I mean and then you can do the same thing with this as well if
[8:57 - 9:05] you really wanted to like let's just say let's go with this one right here and
[9:05 - 9:10] this one is cool I have used this in the past for videos it's a negativity
[9:10 - 9:17] effect like it's one of those effects you usually see on phones like as you
[9:17 - 9:27] can tell like that looks super cool now if you want to change effects all you
[9:27 - 9:36] do is you click on the effects square to like let's say you want to do something
[9:36 - 9:54] unique and just very different let's click on that TV one and see yellow the
[9:54 - 10:02] multiple screen effect when you're acting that Sarah that I also that does
[10:02 - 10:07] lead me to this if you do want to pick back up on a project you just click on
[10:07 - 10:13] the project when you go back into it and then click on this pencil right
[10:13 - 10:21] here and just click on edit project over this one we are gonna pick back up
[10:21 - 10:32] on the effects so we're gonna go back into effects and for this one we're
[10:32 - 10:49] just gonna take the effects off if I can all right there we go no effect now
[10:49 - 10:55] if you guys want to add music which I know some of you guys will you click on
[10:55 - 11:02] this and then what you want to do is like whenever you download music you
[11:02 - 11:09] click on this right here and it'll show you like all these different audio files
[11:09 - 11:16] that you can choose from and you can also import from your Google Drive
[11:16 - 11:22] which is awesome or you can do voiceovers and whereas I said yeah pro
[11:22 - 11:32] you can get more sound clips which I don't worry about now focusing on
[11:32 - 11:37] images which I really like you can actually take and do really cool things
[11:37 - 11:45] with images like for this one I'm just going to use the live portrait maker
[11:45 - 11:49] just for an example it's actually one that this is an app I do like to use
[11:49 - 11:57] all you do is you simply click on whatever image you want and you just
[11:57 - 12:07] hit the plus sign just like everything else where did it go know what you're
[12:07 - 12:13] gonna want to do is you're gonna want to hit the back button on that and just
[12:13 - 12:17] to be funny
[12:17 - 12:29] but usually you're as you can see like your music will end up down here and
[12:29 - 12:35] you're layered images or whatever will end up on this line but for this one
[12:35 - 12:48] just to be funny we're gonna go into music downloads and just to be you know
[12:48 - 12:58] funny and random we're just gonna click on let's say I wanted to use my song
[12:58 - 13:06] well not my song but mine and my brother Sean's song turkey sandwich which is a
[13:06 - 13:11] fun which is a good song by the way I'll post the link in and link in the
[13:11 - 13:15] description you guys want to hear it you simply click on that and it adds it to
[13:15 - 13:24] it and as you can see once it's done loading you can then drag it back and
[13:24 - 13:32] forth just by simply holding the mouse or your hand or whatever you're on over
[13:32 - 13:40] it until it turns yellow and then as you can see you can move it back and
[13:40 - 13:50] forth and then if you want to any you simply click on it click on this pencil
[13:50 - 13:55] this this what I'm doing right now applies to all things whether it's
[13:55 - 14:03] images audio video what have you you're gonna once you click on it you're going
[14:03 - 14:12] to click on edit and then as you can tell you got volume duplicate and all
[14:12 - 14:16] that but we're not gonna focus on any of that because that just pertains to
[14:16 - 14:22] the audio what you're gonna want to do is if you're trying to edit a video or
[14:22 - 14:30] if you want to clip a video you simply click on the thing you simply click on
[14:30 - 14:38] it like you did with this down here and then you click and you'll be presented
[14:38 - 14:45] with this and this is where you can like you know duplicate it you can
[14:45 - 14:51] color it reverse it you can change the speed of the video the volume you can
[14:51 - 14:57] control the volume you know up and down or you can have a mixer where you can
[14:57 - 15:00] do different ones
