2017-8-1 The truth about me

[0:00 - 0:10] Hello guys, Chance here and I have something I want to talk about today and that is the
[0:10 - 0:18] fact that I'm not assigned to a record label and for those of you that are wondering no
[0:18 - 0:25] I will not accept a non paying record label because I've dealt with record labels like
[0:25 - 0:31] that before and they've all screwed me over so badly to where I've almost had to quit
[0:31 - 0:39] music because they felt like they could take advantage of me and use me and that's why
[0:39 - 0:49] I will not sign with a record label that does not pay, I refuse. As a matter of fact
[0:49 - 0:58] I used to co-own one and was a CEO of the record label Killer Clown Sounds which was
[0:58 - 1:05] founded by myself and my good friend still to this day even though I do not work with
[1:05 - 1:12] them Eric Scrubble. Like me and him still remain good friends I just don't work with
[1:12 - 1:21] his label anymore because it doesn't pay and he understands that but you know I've
[1:21 - 1:28] been taking advantage of way too many times. I refuse to sign to a non paying record label
[1:28 - 1:33] and for those of you that are wondering why I'm not assigned it's because of my physical
[1:33 - 1:40] appearance. See record labels don't like how I look so they figured they can bully
[1:40 - 1:46] me and bash on me and tear me down to where I will not be assigned the label to where
[1:46 - 2:02] I'll give up but the thing is though I'm not giving up. I refuse to give up. You see
[2:02 - 2:13] I've been doing music since 2010. I started doing music back in February of 2010 and
[2:13 - 2:20] I've been doing it ever since and some of you may be wondering you know hey gents did
[2:20 - 2:29] you work? To answer your question no I currently do not work and there's a reason for that.
[2:29 - 2:38] You see a few months ago my mom was struck by a car. She was sent 10 feet and now has
[2:38 - 2:53] severe problems and is almost almost disabled. So while our roommate goes to work during
[2:53 - 3:02] daytime I stay home to help take care of her. So I can't work. I wish I could but I can't
[3:02 - 3:08] because I have to stay home to help take care of her. So I dedicate my entire life
[3:08 - 3:14] every day to doing what I love best which is music. From the time I get up in the morning
[3:14 - 3:20] to the time I go to bed at night I'm always working on something musically. My literal
[3:20 - 3:28] schedule in the morning is wake up, grab coffee, check emails, check Facebook notifications,
[3:28 - 3:35] sit down, start writing songs and then that night during the night when everybody else
[3:35 - 3:41] was asleep you know I sit down and I record my music and then I release it that next
[3:41 - 3:50] morning. The album I'm currently working on right now is called Haunted Reality. It's
[3:50 - 3:57] more of a, it's going to be my first ever all melodic scream or metalcore, assuming
[3:57 - 4:04] I call it, album. And this album is different than most because it touches base on some
[4:04 - 4:13] very sensitive subjects in my past like suicide, the loss of a friend, you know some very
[4:13 - 4:25] dark places in my past that I have been down and you know everything like that. I'm too
[4:25 - 4:34] so steep right now. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of this week. I'm hoping.
[4:34 - 4:48] Also depends on what I have going on. So hopefully I'll get something done. But you know, see
[4:48 - 4:54] most people wonder why I don't make money and it's because I don't have a job. And
[4:54 - 5:02] I just told you guys why I don't have a job. And you know the thing that's very untrue
[5:02 - 5:08] is that you have to spend money to make money. That's not true at all. I know several artists
[5:08 - 5:18] who came from nothing, like literally nothing and made it to where they're at. Like my
[5:18 - 5:26] good friend John. John Scanlan also known as Will Scanlan. He was recording on the back
[5:26 - 5:35] of his car homeless for several years, for almost six years and now I've got him. He's
[5:35 - 5:45] touring locally and statewide where he's at because somebody gave him a chance. And
[5:45 - 5:50] for those of you that are wondering why I'm not a son, it's because record labels want
[5:50 - 5:56] to bash on me and talk crap about me. They don't like how I look. They think that with
[5:56 - 6:01] my physical appearance, I wouldn't make it. And everybody's always like, Oh, well, why
[6:01 - 6:08] don't you wear a mask? Well, I don't believe in wearing a mask. Okay. Why should I hide
[6:08 - 6:14] who I really am? Why should I hide who I am from the world? I don't want to hide my
[6:14 - 6:22] face. I don't want to hide the real me. I want people to see the real me. When I step
[6:22 - 6:27] on that stage, I want people to be able to see my face and be like, yes, I know this
[6:27 - 6:37] guy. I know this artist. I look up to this artist and I know a lot of you are thinking,
[6:37 - 6:42] Hey, why don't you start your own record label? Well, I want to. I really do, but
[6:42 - 6:52] I can't. Reason why I don't have a fan base and I'm working on that. You can see without
[6:52 - 6:59] a fan base, I have nothing. So I'm hoping that with this video, you guys will pass it
[6:59 - 7:09] around and share my story and help me get somewhere with it. Because, you know, music
[7:09 - 7:12] is my life. It's my life way. It's what I love. It's what I eat, sleep and breathe
[7:12 - 7:21] every day. I mean, yes, I've got some calendar and the art calendar that I'm working on
[7:21 - 7:30] that I did dedicate the Chester Bennington of when you mark God rest his soul. But, you
[7:30 - 7:37] know, for the most part, music is my life. It's what I live for. It's what I do. It's
[7:37 - 7:42] what I'm good at. It's the one thing that I'm best at that I can get up in the morning
[7:42 - 7:47] and say, Hey, this is my job. Even though it doesn't pay right now, this is my work.
[7:47 - 7:52] This is what I do. This is what I strive for every day, is to have that chance that not
[7:52 - 7:59] many have that are like me, that are special needs, to make it on stage. And yes, I'm special
[7:59 - 8:07] needs. Because see, I was born two pounds, 12 ounces, or no, two pounds, five ounces.
[8:07 - 8:15] My bad. I got that mixed up. But I wasn't supposed to live as a baby. I was supposed
[8:15 - 8:22] to die the day I was born. But because my mom took me home, my mom, who by birth is
[8:22 - 8:29] my grandmother, who took me in, she then became my mother. My real parents couldn't take
[8:29 - 8:35] care of me. My biological father, he went to jail the day I was born. For God knows,
[8:35 - 8:41] but I still don't know what he went to jail for to this day. And my biological mother,
[8:41 - 8:51] she did not have the mental capabilities to take care of me. So, you know, I was raised
[8:51 - 8:58] by my grandmother, who when she adopted me became my mom. So I was raised by my mom
[8:58 - 9:08] my entire life. My adoptive dad, even though he was military, he was never really around.
[9:08 - 9:15] He still isn't around to this day. I went down to Florida back in 2014 to visit him.
[9:15 - 9:24] Worst mistake I could have made. Me and him no longer speak because of that. But you
[9:24 - 9:30] know, as such, I've dedicated my entire life to doing music. It's what I love. It's what
[9:30 - 9:35] I'm good at. It's the one thing that I can wake up and say, hey, I can make a difference
[9:35 - 9:44] with this. But unless somebody finds me a paying record label that will pay me each
[9:44 - 9:54] month for my music and what I release, then I'm not going to get anywhere. Yes, I want
[9:54 - 10:00] to get signed to a record label. But in order to do that, in order for me to accept that,
[10:00 - 10:06] they have to pay because I've been screwed on by not paying record labels before. And
[10:06 - 10:19] I'm tired of that happening. I'm tired of being screwed over. But, you know, I've been
[10:19 - 10:27] doing music since 2010 and it's now 2017. And that's a long time than me doing music.
[10:27 - 10:36] I've literally been doing music nonstop every day. I've put in the hard work. I've done
[10:36 - 10:44] the sleepless nights. I even still do sleepless nights time and time putting in work. Everybody
[10:44 - 10:50] on my friends list says I need to be signed and they're right. So if you're out there
[10:50 - 10:56] and you're watching this and you know of any record labels that will pay me or even
[10:56 - 11:02] willing to take me on and is willing to help me get somewhere to where I can get paid,
[11:02 - 11:09] then, you know, please share this video around. Share this video around to your mom, your
[11:09 - 11:14] dad, your aunt, your uncle, your grandma, your grandpa, everybody. I annoy people with
[11:14 - 11:21] it. Bug people with it until they hate you for it. I want my story to be known. I want
[11:21 - 11:27] to make a change in the music industry. I want to show people that, yes, even if you
[11:27 - 11:34] are special needs, you can make it. I don't care if the record label is a small independent
[11:34 - 11:39] label that pays. I don't care. As long as they pay me for what I do, that's all that
[11:39 - 11:44] matters to me. And the reason why I want to get paid is because, you know, I've worked
[11:44 - 11:52] hard for it. I've worked hard for what I do. My only means of doing my music right now
[11:52 - 11:59] is my Kindle Fire, which I am currently speaking to you on, and my desktop computer. That's
[11:59 - 12:07] all I have. I have nothing else. Instrument wise, I have two acoustic guitars and a harmonica.
[12:07 - 12:18] That's it. But, you know, that's my life. So if you guys do know of any record labels
[12:18 - 12:25] that's willing to sign, let me know, please. If they pay me, if they're willing to pay
[12:25 - 12:32] me or bring me on for free and sign me and pay me, please let me know. If you know of
[12:32 - 12:41] any A&R's or any kind of representatives, let me know. As I said, I do dubstep, I'm
[12:41 - 12:50] a melodic scream vocalist, I'm a punk rock singer, and I also produce my own stuff, like
[12:50 - 12:57] my own beats, instrumentals, everything. So please guys, I'm asking you to please share
[12:57 - 13:09] this video around to everyone, because I don't have money. All I have is my skills with music.
[13:09 - 13:17] That's all I have. And we are just barely getting by on bills. We're barely getting
[13:17 - 13:24] month to month and I want to change all that. I want to have a better future for my family.
[13:24 - 13:34] I want to be able to pay for my mom's doctor's bills. I want to be able to make it to where
[13:34 - 13:40] we can stop getting by just barely getting by month to month and get by several months
[13:40 - 13:49] in advance. We're just barely making rent each month. I'm the type of artist that will
[13:49 - 13:54] sit down, I'll write a song, I'll record it, and if I feel that an instrumental is not
[13:54 - 14:00] right, I will tear it down and rebuild it as many times as I have to until I get it
[14:00 - 14:07] right. I'm that artist that would go out of the way to record and record and record
[14:07 - 14:17] and rerecord my songs until I get them perfect. I'm that artist that puts in work. So if
[14:17 - 14:21] you're a record label that's watching this and that's the kind of artist you're looking
[14:21 - 14:31] for, I'm just what you need. Well with that being said guys, as a chance, as I said please
[14:31 - 14:39] share this around to everybody. Like share this to everyone that you can because I want
[14:39 - 14:43] the world to know my story and how these record labels bash on me for my physical
[14:43 - 14:54] appearance daily. I want the world to know how they are literally, you know, discriminating
[14:54 - 15:03] against me because of my physical appearance. So please guys, I beg you and urge you to
[15:03 - 15:11] please share this video with everyone. Let my story be known. Let the world hear my
